About the Blog

Whats on the Blog?

On this blog are my travels, my attempts to wed philosophers and modern travel, and advice for visiting the places that I’ve visited. All of it presented as honestly and straightforward as possible.

This Blog Exists Because:

  1. I noticed that today’s travel blogs lack a certain depth in context, understanding, and storytelling. There are roughly a million blogs which detail the ‘10 best hidden restaurants in Paris’ and none which address the ethical implications of ordering the escargot. I’m going to change that.
  2. I want others to travel. Oh wow, real original – I know I know – but it’s true, so sue me.
  3. Quarantine sucks.

Long Reads

Stories from my travels which come to life. Got some time on your hands? Great; the word count on these run long. Discover campsites in remote valleys, get lost among the streets of ancient capitals, and fall in love with (or learn to loathe) the people along the way.

About the Name

Why “Pack the Peanut Butter”? Because when you travel or trek, you must bring the right amount from home. And for me, Peanut Butter is the right amount.

Pack too much and your load will be heavy, your progress will be slow, and you will grow tired. Pack too little, and you will lack what’s needed for your trip, your body will weaken, and you will grow tired. This is why I pack peanut butter. The calories and protein give my body strength. The taste reminds me of sandwiches I had every day as a kid. Peanut Butter is a small luxury: there are things which weigh less and provide the same nutrition. But, when on the road, a small comfort from home is worth a little extra weight.

Do not pack too much. Do not pack too little. Pack the right amount. Pack the peanut butter

About Me

I’m Dylan. I grew up in Connecticut and now live in South Korea teaching English. I’m a wannabe world traveler, philosopher, and writer held back by a lack of money, self-doubt, and questionable writing abilities. Regardless, I’m excited to share with you my experiences from the road and the library.

Thanks for stopping by. Be kind to yourself, be kind to others, and safe travels out there
